Sampakalypse, I'm with yo on the Cambodian food!
but I haven't had any since moving away from Houston.
Used to work with a crew of Cambodians and I got to share lunch with them. I miss that!
Clean Cards, that was absolutely uncalled for.

Quaddawg,
thanks for being on my side, read what "Cleancard" said about him on the topic:"This is wrong!"
Anyways, what kind of work wasn't yo had in Houston where yo worked with cambodian peoples? Do yo know the history of the country, if yo do know......it's sad, huh?

Sampakalpyse, I ran a crew that cleaned the highways, I coud n't get good help. One day I hired a Cambodian refugee and the next day he brought his family and by the end of the summer I had the fastest crew in the company. I really got close to some of my workers and learned a little of the Khmer language. I heard about the atrocities committed against the people by the Khmer Rouge. People in this country just can't imagine that kind of brutality. We think we have it rough.
I miss those folks and their ways, best damn employees I ever had to pleasure to work with. I look back on that part of my life as one of the most satisfying.
Be cool man,yo know how closed minded people can be. Don't let them win by getting yo all bent. What Cleancards said was out of line, but to each their own. @#$@#$em!
sampakalypse
November 25th, 2000, 11:07 PM
Yeah, I'm "Khmer" too, by the way! About 2 million cambodians were killed by the "Khmer Rouge Regime", it was called a "GENOCIDE". I came to the U.S. in '83, but the war ended in '79.
Communist ruling for 5 years, doctors, celebrities, anyone with education are killed and they killed viciously! The "Khmer Rouge Regime" soldiers ages ranges from around 10 year-olds to whatever age.
I never thought yo woud know about this stuff. Have yo ever seen a movie called "The Killing Fields", it's a good movie. Yo shoud see it, if yo didn't see it yet.
I remember my da tellin' me a true story about a "Khmer Rouge" soldier cut open a guy's liver from his back while he was still alive and puttin' in his dinner plate. I guess he was tryin' to scare him, and he was.

Cleancards totally uncalled for....Yo have no right to say who deserves to die....Yo r opinion on this matter gives me the impression that yo think yo are god....Uncool When yo r opinions h rt others keep em to yo rself.

Sampakalypse, Yes I saw The Killing Fields.
I had a bunch of 16 through 18 year olds work with me one summer and they were great, they told me stories that would make the hair stand up on the back of my neck, nobody should have to go through that kind of treatment, as I said, most Americans don't have a clue what went on.
Thanks for sharing. It takes me back to that time. Your people have a lot of class, most people I know could take a few lessons from them.

Hey, if you let them get you worked up, you are letting them win, they have no influence over you and they don't have a clue as to where you are coming from. All they can do is write crappy little notes on a forum, they have no power. So don't give them any by reacting. they don't even have a life, blow em off.

You're right, they probably don't have a fun life. They're probably computer geeks. I got into computers for only 2 things....burn CDs and program my H-card. I'm not into computers that much, before I was just cruisin' with my potnas and hangin' out.
Thanks for the advice, Quaddawg!....oh, by the way, you have a gangsta name. Hehehehe!:PE

MUggles: Since you are the Supreme Court of the Den.
Is there anyway that you can post that banned person's remark, so that we can vote as to weather to request a U.S Supreme Court Hearing. (only kidding, please don't ban me)

Looks like things are pretty controversal. I agree as to the need for some censorship, however, I don't think a ban means that you loose your right to the member's area, just, your right to post or join the chat area. This area required a seperate registration. I have a different name in the members area, thanks to RiseStar and a problem with the data base. I wanted to change my name here also, however, to do so would involve some tricks that I won't mention or care to spend the time or effort on.
If you notice that the URL on top of the page is different than that of the members area. I suspect that DSSCHAT is a seperate organiztion, it doesn't go down when the Den system does. In addition, the moderators have different powers, even though there is some crossover.
In any case, the moderation seems to be different with each moderator, I have seen some real heavy and bad stuff posted in the more technical forums. Perhaps they are not followed as close. The rules here should be easy to follow, and after the election is finally completed, the posts here will drop off considerably.
cerberus
November 26th, 2000, 06:28 PM
You can post for free when you register. There are two different forums here. One for the masses and one for the members. This is the best 30 bucks I have ever spent.

My favorite meal to cook is Black Angus beef cooked medium rare over a super hot fire. I like it seared on the outside but still nice and red in the middle. I like the filet mignon's cut approximately 3 inches thick and the T-bones, New York strips and rib eyes cut to approximately 2 inches thick. I prefer Dales steak sauce for my marinade. I like to top my filets with fresh lump crabmeat. Sometimes I will use a béarnaise sauce. I like a bake potato cooked so long that the peeling starts to burn and of course you add your sea salt and real Land of Lakes butter. I like fresh asparagus with Hollandaise sauce. Fresh Brussels sprouts with a cool sauce made from Dijon mustard works when I can't get fresh asparagus. I like my salad with 1000 island dressing and crunched up saltine crackers. I like Pepperidge farm French bread. I usually have no room for desert after this meal, but if I do it is hard to beat homemade Blackberry cobbler with a quality French vanilla ice cream on the side. I usually watch free TV while I eat.
Does anybody won't to come over and eat?
