I have an early production modle of the DTC 100. Firmware update I think is 372. H card works fine in it after the pin 15 mod posted by Electron.

But, With this firmware update I do not get 199. And the antenna option under setup is oval or standard dish. No option for how many LNB's. I also get all the locals in the 900 block. With another DTC 100 I had, prior to getting hit with 752... I got many more channels and the locals were in the 2900 block. I also had a few engineering channels specific to HDTV setup.

I am currently using a standard 18" dish...

I think I have a costly and fancy 4th gen IRD here. Anyone else run into this?

And other than allowing updates does anyone know if it is possible to upgrade to the next firmware update?

Did you get 199 before the mod?
Did you set it for oval dish?

I am pretty sure the HD Channels are on the other satellite
if you are using only one dish that could be the problem.

Do you get 509?

Ver 372 is not an update, it is the original firmware release. The reason you do not get 199 or for that matter 509 and 901 is because they are HD channels and only avilable on the 119 sat. You need an oval dish or two 18" dishes and a 22khz switcher. You probably are also not getting the 119 locals from San Diego, Kansas City, San Antonio etc which are between 2-99.

I never had it in the data stream prior to doing the mod, but I doubt that the mod itself did anything to remove options.

I suspected this was the original release. My concern is that since doing the pin 15 mod, and confirming that D** is unable to reprogram my flash eeprom, that I may never be able to get any of the advanced features. With or without an oval dish....

And I have tried both oval and standard dish. (Oval dish option does not even have the 2LNB or 3LNB option. Pointing screen is very different etc.

My DTC-100 had Version 372 when I got it and I was able to get all the channels in HD mode including 199. It would not tune in the nasa channel until after the first firmware update. I believe there was one other update after that but I don't know for sure what it did.

I think it should work just fine with the original firmware
ver 372 for the most part.

The above post indicated other changes with the 1st update
( Gray vs Black Bars on the sides and loss of 900 ch )

Well I still have the 900 block of locals.

"No Channel Available" message at 199. I think I'm screwed unless I can figure out how to get a partial update.

I have a DTC-100 with the latest updates on it.

I have an eliptical dish, and a valid HU card.

I get the "plus" preview channels with this setup @(400)

When I tune to 199 I get "Information Not Available" in the header.

I get that message on all the non-preview channels.

Hope this helps..........

TEchnobill,

You need a oval dish (18" x 24") or two separate 18" dishes pointed at satellite 101 and 119. Both of these options will need a multiplier switch which comes with the oval dish or you can buy one at Rat Schack if you go with the (2) 18" dishes. The setting in your DTC-100 should be set to oval dish. The version of software that you have can see both satellites. The HD satellite and the regular program satellite. You do not need the (3) satellite option at this time which was included in software version 4.03 and above because nothing is being broadcast currently in the 110 satellite.
