I am using an emulator, and a svga/svideo front projector.

Right now I am using the svideo input with a 5th gen rca (drd222) ird. Before I spend the money to upgrade to something like the RCA DTC-100 ird, I was wondering if I will get a signficant improvement on video quality - for either regular channels, and/or just the 2 HDTV channels. I was also wondering if its possible to find a dtc100 receiver that has not been 752ed (blocked from H card access).

thanks for any help!!!

On my HD ready Mitsubish 65" wide screen, the DTC-100 is running thru the HD inputs, and all the channels look MUCH better, than thru the S-video inputs.

DirecTV running thru the S-video looks terrible on the 16X9 RPTV's. It looks like a jpeg that has been enlarged beyond it's limits.

This is the main reason I purchased the DTC-100.

I think that your money would be better off spent on a line double, rather than a new reciever.

I run the DVDO on my Barco 801s, and the picture is 1000x better then the normal composite in.

You can get a DVDO line doubler for around $500.

I still think that noral DSS broadcast looked better through my line doubler then they do out of the DTC-100.

Normal NTSC broadcast are a little soft throught the DTC-100.

With the line doubler, you will have the additional benifit of running all you other video sources through it.

The DTC-100 is great, but for the $500 you are better off getting a line doubler first.

Unless of coarse you have to have everything :)

Then get both...
