Could some of you with the DTC-100 please try this it seemed to stop the daily updates for 3 days then I had to reboot because they 745 my sub bin.

I think the date and time sehedule for the updates is stored in the 8 pin eeprom and if it is set it tells the ird to accept the update attempt.

First look in your upgrade menu and see if there is a scheduled update if so note the date.

After a failed update attempt then go to the next step.

Pull power cord and plug it back in within about 2 or 3 seconds. ( do it fast )

After reset look at the update schedule it should have the same date as before.

Wait a day or to and report back if another update attempt was made.

This seems to keep the old date and time for the next update attempt and since the date and time is past mine did not attempt an update for 3 days.

I may be all wet on this just need a few testers.

It didn't work............

Maybe I did something wrong.

I left the unit on during the update, and it froze up as usual. I unplugged it for a nano-second and it reset, but when I checked the menu, the date was gone.

Do I need to have it off during the update?

Kool Aid,

I think you did it correctly as I was asking, I don't know what is going on for sure Mine seems to act strange and stop attempting updates for days at a time
Then If I have to reset it it starts attempting again.

Are you getting the original message still or the one about: Multiple update attempts have failed please contact your equiptment manufacture 1-800-...-....?

Thenks for testing this.

I did a quick power cycle and then checked to see if an update was scheduled. None at this time, but that was how it always was in my DTC. After work I would check and see that I had an update scheduled for 4AM the next morning.

Sometimes I would get home and have to reset from an update during the day.

I am still getting the regular "update failed" message.

But, I have stopped letting it try to update, by using an A/B switch, and turning off the feed before the scheduled update times.

No change on my end..... I think I am going to get a clapper and use it to kill power to my DTC 100......

Merry Christmas All.
