1.In the e-mail what is a 'POP3 server'?
2.Is it ok to post threads from our helpful forum on other DSS sites??(have you guys looked at some of the other sites forums, man are we lucky to have our Pirates Den.
3.Is is ok to access the forums/members area from other people comp.???
(for example when i work away from home and stay the night at a friends i don't want the mods to think i gave out my passwords) thanx, finkle

1. a pop3 server is your incoming mail server. This is the server that receives your email from the net. You retrieve it from there.

2. It is not OK to post links to other commercial sites that are not advertisers here. You can check the dealer links section to see if they are.

3. You should be OK doing this. There are security features in place to detect if you have given your password to anyone and they use it. I login from work and at home and on the road with no problems.

thanx slugger, i didn't word my ?? correctly.
In the email if i want external email(from hotmail) to come in what do need to put down as server??? I've tried a couple diff. (hotmail, msn.hotmail, msn.hotmail.com) keeps giving me POP3 error. thanx, finkle

Hotmail is web-based email. You can't receive email from them using outlook or outlook express or eudora etc.

The reason they give you a free account is so you will have to read all of the banner ads when you are connected and reading mail.

If you want a non web-based email account you will have to contact your ISP and see if they can give you one. Usually they do.

But how about posting links from our 'forum with helpful info' on other DSS sites. for example some of MoeDaddys guides. If you have bothered going to some of the other sites, Lord knows they can use the help. thanx, finkle
