I'm looking for information on installing a starband/echostar sat. internet sys. Has anyone out there installed one themselves and how can I get my hands on a intallation manual? I want to learn how to set one up, but I can't find a source for a manual.

You get installation manuals when you purchase the system. But you have to have a certified installer to activate the system. You can only buy the systems at a DN Retailer, directly from Starband or Radio Shack (RS will require you to purcahse a computer). In either case, you will still need to be a certified installer to activate the system, otherwise Starband will not activate the system without the installer providing a cert#.

Thanks Gateway,
I do understand that I will have to have a certified installer to activate the sys. Iam going to purchase the sys from Starband, have it installed here at my house in the US and then move it down to Mexico. I did not know that installation manuals came with the sys., since you have to be a certified installer, what would be the sense in providing the consumer with a manual. If I understand you correctly, you are saying that the manuals I need will be included with the sys., is that correct? Also, I've been told that a "buzz meter" would be very helpful in reaiming the dish, do you agree? I'm sorry if I'm going on and on about this but I don't want to purchase this thing and then find out it won't work or it can't be done the way I want to do it.
Thanks, Larry

The manuals included are basic, put they show how to put this dish together and how the LNB should be set for horizontal or vertical polorization, depending on which sat you end up using. I have a manual in PDF format that I could email you, if you will email me with your email address. Some people say that you need a spectrum analyzer to correctly align dish, but that is not true. We used a channel master signal meter and was within the acceptable range on the first try. Good Luck.... You can email me at argill@starband.net
