Something wierd with my 4500 ExpressVu reciever. Ever since my wife dropped something on the top of it(Hard enough to make a Dent)...Whenever we use it...seems like most stations go black after watching for a few minutes. It seems to cut out for a few seconds(10-30 seconds)and then the channels return. Some stations black out more frequently then others. Yes, I do subscribe to Bell ExpressVu. Anyone have any ideas...Also we just reinstalled this dish last summer and I noticed that the coax cable looks a little damaged(bent one too many times).
Thanks for the suggestions.

Could be a Blinky problem that a lot of Bell receivers have/had . Or it could be a bad LNB or cable , . Do you have a friend where you could try the unit out at his place ? That could make it easier . Then you would know whether it was an exterior[cabling/LNB] or interior[receiver] problem . Have or can you call Bell ? I'm not a Bell[or any other] expert by any means . Just trying to assist . Hope that helps .

Sounds to me that when she dented it, it probably cracked a circuit trace or made a part go "Thermal". This means when it heats up, the part stops working. Or maybe there's a "cold solder" joint that was holding on until it got jarred. Try going to your nearest electronics store, and buy a can of "Cooling" spray. This is used to detect thermal parts. Next time the receiver acts up, spray some cooling spray into certain areas of the receiver, and see if you can find one area that when cooled, makes the receiver start working again. If it's a cold solder joint, the cooling spray might also detect that, but your best bet in that case is to have somebody take the receiver apart, and eyeball it very well looking for this problem.
