Ok I didn't get anything on the search function. I have 4 receivers, 3 are just fine, the 4th shows a 92 signal strength on even transponders and 0 on odds. Everything was fine and people were watching TV (NO changes being made) and it just stopped....... What gives?

Have you moved a good receiver to the location of the bad one to see what it does?

check to see if you have power to the multi switch from the reciever you can take your tongue to test if you dont have a volt meter you will get a tingle like a 9 volt battery if no voltage check right out of the reciever if good cable is bad if no power bad reciever

Ok Folks, thanks for the input. I hate when I reply and nobody lets you know the out-come. I Disconnected the IRD that was having a problem from the multiswitch and reconnected it. (No dice, it didn't work) I swapped the run that was having problems at the multiwsitch with another and now everthing is fine on everything. Occasionally things will have a "digital moment" you know when everything looks likes little squares for a second and then things are fine....... signal strength is 93. I personally think I have a flaky multiswitch...... It's an RCA

What do ya think?

Sometimes these modern elctronics repair themselves......for a little while at least. Your problem may crop up again or you may have "fixed" it when you reconnected and repowered the switch. One of the best ideas with this design is NO moving parts. It's a shame when we have to use a multiswitch with a switch you can actually hear. I have seen bad multiswitches and will see more, but the news I put in won't have switches I can hear move.
By the way , what did they call FM when it first came out ?

Damn... It's back, the problem that is. The receiver I swapped onto the port of the multiswitch is now only getting even transponders and none of the odds. It seems if I swap runs at the multiswitch everything is ok for a while. It doesn't seem to be enough to just disconnect for a few seconds and reconnect. OK what non-mechanical multiswitch do you recommend. The *%&.# thing is mounted in the attic above the living room and has always annoyed the living &%#* out of me everytime somebody in the house channel surfs anyway.

Thanks again
