can a dish network LNB be used on a direct TV dish?

The way I understand it they are not compatable if you are talking about picking up the signal

Yes they work. Just aim it at the right bird and your watching TV.I've been told that you cant use the Dish 500 to hit the 119 bird and the 101 at the same time tho.
