Plus went by few other electronic stores, Bell Express is stocking up real high. Guys! you know what to do, DON'T go close it.

Actually no the dish. They want your receiver, your programming card (they did not mention what kind of card. Hell give them F :)), and remote control.. how lame.

ronb,
What is not true ?
If it is regarding the tread it is true. The Future Shop that I know of is located in Winnipeg, (St. James Location). I think the offer is over but it is the store that's offering it. Unless the Store manager wants the dish. As we all know, Future Shop sales people are NEVER honest (Lame Ass liars).

Techboss,
Who are you to judge the salespeople for an entire company... you may have met a few bad apples but dont judge everyone we all dont wear the same shoe....What you are doing is the same as judging an entire race because you had 1 problem with say a black person.... Not kewl at all man... I know for fact their are alot of hard working honest folks @ FutureShop.
Enuff said.

I don't anything about Future shop but ExpressPuke ( Beamscope - master Distributer ) has been caught selling the US systems right in Canada instead of shipping them to the US..

Wanna know why that is GS2? I know they have filed for bankrupcy... They will no longer be distributing software etc to major electronics chains.... Maybe they are selling them to recoup some cash....

Are those the ones from 2 years ago GS2 or are they dumping new ones now ? I was offered some recently under BEV's retailer cost . But I'm always unterested in where something is available at a lower price . :)

Sorry that I did not explain clearly on FS sales people. It is the company that force them to lie. Yes I still buy from them, but I never get advice from them. I am not sure where you come from. Maybe in other cities in Canada FS sales people are hardworking. In Winnipeg, for one I had dealt with every store and there are only a hand full of honest people. Guess what most of them quit due to low compensation by the company. To see if they are honest, do the following:
Check out their competition and watch out for any price differences, if there is a huge one stock up your goods purchased from FS, then go back the next day and ask for a Price difference - their price protection policy. (Before it was 150% now I think its like 115%). This is what they will do (If you are holding a high ticket item) - They will talked over it with their manager (Which is usually an ass) then come back to you and tell you nicely that they will have to call up the competition to check if they have them in stock or if they are selling OEM products. There are some -------s that would pick up the phone and pretend to dail a number that do not exist or something like that. We caught a sales guy that way (RED HANDED) and the store manager and at least 5 sales people got a good lecture from a few of us due to all these.
I hope I have clarify why FS sales people are such a bitch sometimes. (The ones in the computer section usually - Altho they usually get rotated into different depts).
Be Cool!

I was just there. The gurl showed me an e-mail from Expressvu. This is an ongoing exchange with no end date. It stated to sell a reciever only, have the customer mail their DTV reciever directly to them. There is a form that needs filled out. It says that they will mail a check out for the cost and add $27 for the customers trouble.

Star Choice just announced the same deal...only better !!!
Trade in your DSS or ECHO receiver , card , remote ,C-Band receiver and VC2 Plus Board and pay 99.00 plus tax . So it is 100 cheaper at counter and you get an 60-75cm elliptical dish with the 2 stacked KU LNBs plus 100 in free programming for a net cost of ZERO for some old junk in trade .
Those of you in the US and Mexico will be able to receive Canadian/American programming via Star Choice's F2 satellite which will be fired up on feb 17-19 .
Might be able to sell all them 10 buck receivers yet "Junglemike" if you can round up some dead cards for them . I'm sure some Canadians would love some cheap stuff to trade in . Usually you would pay 199 at counter . So start scouring the flea markets .

Customer must also sign a form saying it was his equipment and provide CC info in case problem arises and Star Choice then can collect any losses incurred . I don't think that's a big deal because how can they trace it .
Customer can only use it as a main receiver , and it cannot be transferred to another individual or subscriber . Plus it states the customer must have been subbed with the traded in unit within the last 3 months[ but no proof of that is required ] . I think that would be impossible to prove without a receipt from provider . But it rules out F cards .
Must be installed and activated within 7 days of purchase at retail outlet , which is no biggie either .
That pretty well covers everything except it ends on March 31st . Hope that helps .

Since Future Shop/BEV is offering this exchanges, it is the best time for Canadians exchanged receivers that fail in MOD 303 LOL. Now we know where we can get our RMA :).
Has anyone tried exchanging DTV Receivers + F-Card with the BEV ? (Note the "F" not "H" :))
