ExpressVu dish in Ohio

I once was a primestar subscriber until Dtv bought them out. Then I got a new receiver and dish. At that time I did not know about the h cards. Now I am very imformed about alot of things. The problem I have is why did they give me a expressvu Dish??? Bell expressvu Dish only. The receiver is a direct tv starsight communcation receiver. Are these two companys connected now in any way???
