View Full Version : Dave sent me a letter.

Did any of you guys ever hear of this?? I got a letter in the mail the other day and it said that Direct was sorry they couldn't reach me to set up an appointment for a signal check. But they would contact me within the next couple of days and have someone come over for a signal check. My signal is fine I have about 95-96 so I don't know
whats up. But it sounds fishy to me. Anyone ever heard of this?? Advise from the Mod's would be great! I have no intention of letting anyone in my house to check my setup!!

NO ONE can enter your abode without a COURT ORDER, or a warrant. Then it has to say SPECIFICALLY, what they are looking for.

Hey On the news last night this was also mentioned that people was going and looking for dishes on your house and then telling you that they were there to do a card swap H for Hu. Beware.................cmc..........

I dont know what your situation is...But Some things come to mind...If you have done any programming(on cards that is)in the past...I would be very carefull...You might have gotten turned in to DTV....And if you are running anything now I would clean up the place a little...But there again its just my thoughts..And good luck..

The only time I have ever heard of a signle check was when I inquired about local channels,back when thay only offered east and west coast stations.The signle being checked was that of the local stations in my area to see if the reciption was bad enough to sub to them through dave.

Here is a little more info on the letter I received. First it was written on Dave letter head. There is no mention about the card and I never did any programing for anyone except myself I only have 1 (now fried H card) and a new HU. And I don't think they need to come into my house to check the signal for local channels. The only antena on my roof is the dish and I do not have cable so that should stop them at the front door or the curb.I just thought it was strange. I set the system up my self and I bought it back in 1994 and now they want to check my signal. I don't think so!! Thanks guys for the input and Muggles
