I have been trying to install a Dish 500 for two days now. I can ge the 110 and 119 seperately with 110 strength on EACH individually but I can never get both. I called DISH and they are telling me that I must change location. I have a clear view to 240 . The 119 is 240 AZ and 41 ELEV and the and the 110 is 236 AZ and 45 ELEV. They seem far apart. I ran a search and many seem to have experienced the same problem with this multidish setup.DISH says to move the dish to the left with same elevation. When I raise the elevation then I get the other bird ie the 110.

Any help will be appreciated
Thanks

I used up a lot up valuable time during this install and I want to ensure that this does not happen to anyone else.
DISH 500 MUST DO LIST:
1) You must install the 119 LNBF first with a direct connection to receiver. FIND THE STRONGEST POSSIBLE SIGNAL- USE A PORTABLE TV IN ORDER TO SEE THE GREEEN LED SIGNALS.

2) You must disconnect all cables and connections before you install the multi switch. When prompted to install the switch do so afer disconnection and reconnection of the switch and all cables. VERY IMPORTANT -- VERY IMPORTANT

3) After switch installation run the multiswithch test- It should say on the status screen DISH 500 install complete. This means that both the 110 and 119 satellites are connected. If you receive "X","X" WARNING ONLY one satellite connected YOU MUST CHECK YOUR CONNECTIONS and repeat this step.

4) Run the MULTIDISH INSTALL from the menu. Follow the directions and YOU should see TWO green LOCKED status bars for the 119 and 110. You need a 70 or more strength on each for good results.

The dish has two LNBF and requires LOCKING to two satellites. If your SKEW is correct when you lock in on the 119 FIRST the 110 will be locked on automatically. ATER YOU LOCK ON TO THE 119 FIRST YOU DO NOT HAVE TO MOVE THE DISH AGAIN -TIGHTEN ALL BOLTS AT THIS POINT. If the skew is correct and the multiswitch is functioning you should have no problems with this install.

DISHNETWORK COULD NOT HELP ME WITH THIS SO DONT CALL THEM

You need to check the mount of the dish. If the mounting is not damn-near perfectly plumb & level, you'll never get both sats at the same time.

DTV's dishes can rotate around the Z axis, I'm not familier with the Dish 500 hardware, but "fer sher," the dish must be at the correct "tilt" setting...or in the case of the D500, gotta be absolutely straight up & down, and the LNBs gotta be mounted dead-on, and if there's a "Tilt" adjustment (not elevation, not azimuth, "TILT") to compensate for the Earth's tilt...it's gotta be right-on.
