Is buying a D*TV system legal in Canada?

I hope this is the right forum. If not please forgive me. I live in western canada and with all these new precedences. Is D*TV still
grey? I know a few dealers have been re-enstated. But what if I bought one from mail order from the US? Do I have anything to fear. Will the RCMP come knocking at my door because they see my D*TV dish or trace my package? I wanted to see HDTV which is not yet available from *choice or epuke.

Hi Sgt Shultz,

As an opinion I would say that B.C. Sasketchewan, Manitoba and Nova Scotia are now pretty much "off side" for the RCMP. Judges there have ruled that it is NOT an offence. They VERY LIKELY will NOT be doing any raids in those provinces. If thery do they will be acting maliciously and will get their asses sued bigtime and FAST.

As to the others they will STILL scare and harrass and INTIMIDATE people but Industry Canada and Customs Canada now say its legal to posess or import these receivers and dishes.

They will SOON run out of provinces where they can scare and intimidate people and eventually they will have to go back to the REAL DANGER of criminals. Then there will be no womans skirts for the peppersprayers to hide behind and tyhey will have to do something REAL. Gosh that scarey.

Even those relying on GRAFT may actually have to WORK for a living.

Thanks guys, I have been lurking for months and being canadian find this forum interesting and informative. I am just getting comfortable with this and would hate the farce take away my ird just because i was being stupid or having stupid luck.
