To get more than one sat from a single feed (to the IRD), you must have a fifth gen receiver (a "Plus" receiver). Non-plus IRDs don't have the switching "tone" needed to switch the multiswitch between the two satellites.
To use a non-plus IRD, you have to use an A/B switch ..one lead from each Dual LNB (Sat A to input 1, Sat B to input 2, the output goes to the IRD).
Treat it like two separate dishes. You will not be able to get the NASA channel (or you'll get it and it disappears after a while), you will not be able to receive from the HDTV channels (needs an HDTV receiver). You will get the ParaTodos channels, but they will not correlate to the guide.
You could also hook up one IRD, two IRDs or more to each side (using a multiswitch)...or hook up a bunch of receivers to the 101 side and have a separate box for the 119 sat.
Treat the Elliptical dish like two separate dishes. Scan the Sat Installer's forum, there's a bunch of posts that address the equipment and the setup. Search for "Smack" or "gsd103"...gsd is da'man for multi-dish setups.
Didn't you get the PM I sent responding to your PM?
Good Luck

thanks for the info
question
if i run say 3 4th gens and a 5th gen on the dual dual dish, the 5th gen will be able to switch and get the nasa and no 900's while the 4th gens will get the 900's and work as they do now ?
thanks

It should work as you described, as long as the multiswitch is a "tone-enabled" 4in-4out (two leads from sat A (101), two leads from sat B (119)...like the unit that comes with the retail package.
Good Luck

No you da man! I have been away from the den and frequenting alien tech. I have been brushing up on my emulating as of late and am getting pretty good with laptops. Smack do you ever roam or are you dedicated to the Den? Come to think of it I have never seen your handle anywhere else but the den. I bump into TVgratis everywhere he is very helpfull like yourself. On the other forums there is really no hardware specialist like yourself, you are a true asset to this forum.
Thanks, gsd103

Naw, I stay here. I love this place! I occasionally follow a link, but usually just end up back here. I really haven't seen any information anywhere else that I couldn't get here from folks I "know" through their posts.
I do some of the PC/Video boards, but it's not really related....
Welcome back!
With spring around the corner, the hardware & instlal questions oughta start rolling in.....
Take Care
Scott
