I have a cable split from ird to television upstairs, problem is picture is not real clear, fuzzy picture. I have regular coax I think RG 59 right now, would changing this to RG6 improve the picture or is there something else I need to do? :)

macsc, did you split the cable with a splitter that can handle up to 2050 mhz?... regular cable tv splitters can only handle up to 800Mhz, this would cause a few channels to come in, and others would either be blank or fuzzy. As for the cable, any coax should work, but RG6 is my preference. The only reason I use it, is because it is good for outdoors, and I want as few connections as possible inside the house.

The splitter came in the DSS 2nd receiver kit. But I'll bet it isn't 2050 mhz. I am going to take the splitter out and try a direct line to the extra tv because the video is coming through the other hookups(s-video etc.). Thanks.

Both barney and cellular are on the same wave.
But, trick of the trade, always start at the lnb. Hard line direct. Bypass all other connects if possible. After confirming connenect. Worst to worst, go to R shack and cough the 38.00 for THE spliter. If dat don't do it, well brother, you got a bad crimp on one connect or the other. And I have been known to throw the whole damn mess out the window, and start from scratch, I hate dealin'
with other ppls f*** ups. I have a hard time dealing with my own!! But at least I know what I did!!!!

Thanks to everyone, I just ran the coax straight to the tv, no splitter etc, and the main tv already had a fine picture.
