Hey guys,a couple days ago a buddy, who has done this many times, and myself put up my dish, using a signal finder and getting 90%signal strength. The picture says,"welcome to Dtv's newest sattelite",and receives only 13channels on the receiver program guide, which dont even come in when selected. What am I doing wrong? The receiver and my card has already been checked at a different location and receives all.The compass and the signal finder tell me I'm right on the money.Anybody who can help, please do.Thanks

Can you check all 32 transponders? What transponders are available to you? I have put in some band new E2 Hughes systems that have had problems from the get go. If you are getting all transponders then it sounds like a firmware update may be need for the IRD. Well hopefully you are not dealing with an E2 and this will not apply. You might even give more info like the IRD model number. It sounds like you might be pointed at the wrong bird though. Although I have never received a signal from anything other that the correct one.

Thanks to private guy and radio man for giving it a shot!My receiver is the RCA drd502rb,this thing's huge compared to the newer models.Tommorow I'm going to check all transpoders,I dont think there is a problem with the receiver though,as it works fine at a buddy's house.I'm also going to make sure the elevation and the azimuth are correct using the L.A.angles as I live about 1.5 hours away from the city.Any other ideas would be much welcome guys,THANKS!!!!!!

Ok relax.....Not a problem.

You're pointed at the wrong bird !! There are 4 active slots right now. 95,101,110 & 119.
You are either at 110 or 119. Those Satellites are for Para Todos programing. You need to move your dish left a few degrees.
You want to lock on the 101.

Good Luck
