Hey there i was wondering if someone could help me out.

I am going to relocate to either Costa Rica or Belize, and was wondering if i could pick up DTV down there.

Obviously i would be "testing" so my question is in regards to what modifications are needed in terms of size of dish etc.

According to Desert007's site calculator my
antenna would need to be pointed to 240 and my elevation would need to be 67.

However what about the DTV footprint? does it reach that far, obviously Canada is further from the bird than Costa Rica is and i can get a signal in Canada without modification to the dish, would the same be true for Costa Rica and or Belize?

If someone could please help me i would appreciate it.

According to some friends, you can get signal in Belize with a 7 feet dish, but Costa Rica I don't think so, just let me know if you have any luck......

Jg,

Vist here and see if your location falls in DTV footprints.
http://www.lyngsat.com/tracker/dbs.shtml

You will need long and lat for your locations.

Since you traveling there. you can take with you your receiver and a 30" dish just in case you have problem. I am sure it won't be easy to obtain 30" dish from there.

The size of the dish its bigger. Currently after the sat changes in Mexico City we are using 8 Ft dishes, so I can guess you need at least 10 to 12 ft dish.

so with a 10 ft dish picking up a signal shouldn't be a problem? Correct?

this is good news if it is true,

miami you say that a 7ft works in Belize? That is also quite good hopefully a 10 footer will work in San Jose.
