What time on October 4, 1957 was Sputnik launched? A reply is okay but somewhere to find it archived would be even better (searched all day). Its to settle a wager.
Thanks in advance:D

Thats the problem I'm having. I'm sure our spies got the time but where to find it is the problem. Thanks to the Freedom of Information Act, I could write a letter to the US government (using my US mailbox, AKA sister) but I'm sure someone will know.

That helps narrow it down, I wonder how much time passed from launch till he got the message, actually how long before Tass released it because I'm sure it was only minutes from then until he was notified.

Yeah, i searched several different places but couldn't find an exact time. There has to be an unclassified record of it somewhere. Good Luck.
