Well I make an agreement with someone on this board to sale them an H card I had. I had intended to send it via Express mail. Well the person I was selling to asked if I would ship FedEx overnight. They said the overnight for FedEx would cost $12. I had only planned to spend $10 for shipping. The person said they would add 2$ to the total and send it via Paypal. I agreed and said I would send it FedEx overnight. Well the guy sends me the money via Paypal. I go to ship the card and turns out it was going to cost $30.83 for FedEx overnight. At first I started to wait and get back with him on the shipping but since I had given my word I would ship as soon as I got the money I sent the card on. When I got in from work that night I sent him an e-mail and explained to him the deal with the shipping. I asked if he would send me $15 to help make up for the added shipping cost. Well I haven't heard back from him yet. I've sent two e-mails and nothing. Should I just forget about this? I'm not really out any significant $. I mean the least he could do is e-mail me back and say you know what I just can't afford to send it or something. Maybe I'm just being too damn picky. I just feel some common courtesy would be nice. Maybe I come from a different school. Well let me here you guys and gals opinions. Sorry this was so long. Thanks!

Myself, I would eat the loss. Of course he might be away and come back tomorrow and make it right.
But then I would have waited until he paid extra before shipping. Sometimes being a nice guy can hurt.

My bet is you'll see the dough. If you delete his e-mail address from your records you will have let go.Then the problem will be his not yours.

Let this be a lesson to you! (sorry had to say it, parent practicing )but if this guy is square he will send you the money if he doesn't chalk it up and don't loose sleep. Good Luck....

Back in the"good old days",I sold a lot of complete
systems and I got caught up in shipping them to
Canada. I had to eat the extra shipping costs on
the first few systems to Canada. All because I didn't
do my homework,,before I placed my ad. If your customer
didn't realise his responsibility in asking for the
extra (higher) cost shipping, there is nothing you can
do. Some education is expensive and some is cheap.
There are two ways to look at this. Either they knew
the shipping would be more expensive(and planned to
burn you) or they didn't realise it and now they will
have to decide what to do. Time will tell.
