Windows ME!

I just installed this psc. of Hog Wash software. And was wanting to know how to get in pure Dos.

I tryed the F8 trick but never saw the command prompt!
also in the shut down mode it didn't have it for a choice!

My computer with ME is in the shop for repairs, but I thought you had an option when you went to shut down. I could be wrong. Ask Muggles, he will know for sure.

make a boot disk through your control panel add/remove programs, then restart pc with disk in drive, make sure your bios has a:\ drive booting before your c drive, when your selection screen comes up select minimal boot. there ya go pure dos!!!

SECURDUDE is correct. Use the Startup disk which you created when you installed WinME. That will get you to the DOS prompt.

If you don't have one, click on START, then SETTINGS, choose CONTROL PANEL, go to add/remove programs, and select the STARTUP DISK tab. That will enable you to create a diskette which will get you into DOS when you reboot.

Any boot disk created under Win 98 will also work.

I have had no problems running in a Dos window. I have repaired the BS cards in a Dos window while I have been on
and it has work OK.

you can use add remove to make dos disk or use ezemu30 on a 3.5 with the autoexec.bat turned off to start in dos 98.Its what I use with me.

Thanks for all the replies! I'll use the startup way.
I just thought there would be a easier way, just like win98.
but it's not to hard to put a disk in first.
