comes home from work.
"Where's-a my dinna?" he asks his wife.
"I no make-a you dinna!" she says.
"Why you no make-a my dinna?"
"I-a meet my American lady-a friend today. I a liberated woman now!"
"You make-a my dinna or you-a no see me for three days!"
"I-a no make-a you dinna and that's-a that!"
A few weeks later the immigrant wife was recounting the story to her American lady friend.
"What happened then?" asked the American.
"On-a the first-a day, I-a no see 'im."
"On-a the second-a day, I still-a no see 'im."
"On-a the third-a day the swelling-a start to go down and I can-a see 'im."
