Is there a way to get Canadian satellite down here just over the border... I have a canadian address or can they bill to the states? Does any of the providers require a phone hook-up. ? just want to get some local canadian programming.

Yes you can with either Star Choice or Bell ExpressVu . Bell asks for a phone connection upon hook up but don't enforce it...yet . You can use your Canadian address and have the bills forwarded to you . Easiest way is to pay by Credit Card . It is nice having some Canadian programming . Get it activated before you set it up . It makes the install much easier plus you don't have to call either provider unless you change your programming from time to time . If I can offer further help , let me know .

I just purchased a receiver at Bell World in a mall in Windsor... I had no problem and the lady just asked me for a phone number and address. The only problem I experienced with setting this up in the US was that the 800 number they give you to activate the service is only reachable from Canada. I ended up having to call some friends who live in Toronto who then called Expressvu to activate it.
There is a company that sells expressvu service that is based out of ft. lauderdale, FL. The only problem is that I do not know what kind of an operation it is...

Are the bills being sent to a valid address ? How do you pay for your programming ? I hope it was a Canadian ph # and address . Sometimes loose ends can come back and bite you after 3 months . I suspect someone would have to pick up the invoices or else they would go back to Bell and that could cause a problem .
