I need some help figuring out what type of satellite transmition(C/KU bands) can be received in Spain and what kind of equipment I need. Also would it be cheaper to buy it in US than there?
Do these receivers have similar smart card concept? Can it be hacked?
Thank you for your help!

Spain's ViaDigital system uses Nagravision, which is the same encryption as Dish Network. It's the same type of receiver and smartcard.
Why would you buy a ViaDigital system in the U.S.? No one in the U.S. sells that. The service is not available in the U.S.
Now, if you are thinking about getting DirecTV or Dish Network in Spain, you can pretty much forget it. The signal doesn't reach there.
