I've never seen a 3700 model. If you want the 3700 to record while you are out of the house, you leave the rcvr turned on and set to the channel you want to record and set the time on the VCR to record Channel 3, or 4 or Aux depending on how your system is set up. If you are at home, you have to watch what you are recording. Hope that helps.

3700 is a model made for Costco only.

You are welcome. You are one of the few people I know who has a 3700 model. I don't know if it was made specifically for Costco but there aren't many of them out there.
