Yeah, my email is:

Everybody write it down. Memorize it, then eat the note!

If anything happens, email me.

Thats the best I can do.

Quad,
How many pirates can you fit in a 4000 SQ Ft warehouse,
It least there will be mattresses for people to sleep on!

Well a few of us got some trailers set up already. Not all spots have hookups(cable) but there's some empty lots.

You know? I even saw The Trailerpark manager walking through there the other day. Nothng could ever replace what we have here but mascdr has a good point about what to do if a twister blows through and trailers go flying.

...with all the shutting down of other websites,..its quite possible with membership here at the den growing rapidly...get us all herded up..then hurricane "dave" hits,..but aren't trailer parks usually hit first? I wonder if wal-mart has a chatroom on their website.... ...........................cut the brush....and leave the timber stand...

I agree,

When the site is inaccessable, I feel lost. I just sit and stare at the error messages from the server and feel like I'm missing something. (I'm not being sarchastic, I really am that addicted...its sad I know.)

But anyway, I spent all last night trying to debug a free version of Vbulletin (vbulletin lite) and set up a web server through my cablemodem (shhh don't tell my ISP).

If I get it working, I'll post a link. It will only have one Forum... The "Backup" Trailer Park. Just so we can all huddle around the community fire and tell stories until the storm blows over.

Only drawback will be that I do not have a domain name registered yet, so at first it will be an ISP address to log on (IE 208.248.195.126) but I am in the works of getting a domain name and having it registered and directed to My IP.....

The only trouble is...what name should I get? I want something memorable... but not too corny. FalcoN65 is available, but too obvious... how about some suggestions? I'll reserve the best suggestion and register it. And we'll make it the emergency trailer park.

why don't you call it that....the emegency trailer park? ;)

The only problem is that your ISP will know you are going to host something since you will have to go through them to get a name registered and name served within their address space. Odds are they will assign you a static IP and register a name for you, but will charge big bucks for it.

krazie, aren't you out of U.S.? You are also a computer/network tech if I remember right. What would it take to set up a members only chat type setup? If you keep the graphics to a minimum it might not take much.

You have room in your closet for a server with a high speed connection? You could limit membership to 100 or so and take donations of $25 or more for membership per year...
Most deifinitely im out of the us. Yes i am a computer network tech. It wouldnt take much at all i guess to setup a members only chat , well i already have a server with a high speed connection .... i dunno though ill have to think it thru a bit but doenst sound half bad .... Id also be more than willing to help anyone else setup a similar deal :) i love how us pirates always find ways to beat ...errr "get around" the system

I should have mentioned... I already have a static IP address since I use a cablemodem. (One of the few advantages)

I've given up on using vBulletin (that stinkin .php language and MySQL are too buggy, or I'm too stupid one or the other ;) )

But I decided on a Java Chat Room Server. You can check it out at my main page:

<font size=8>http://208.248.195.126</font>

I will try to have it up 24/7 in case any of us Park Residents need a place to hide out for a while. ;)

[yellow]ALSO, when you log in, you will have to register a nickname to get into the rooms. Registration is free and it will guarantee nobody else can get your prized nickname ;)[/color][Edited by ^Falcon_65^ on August 5th, 2001 at 01:32 AM]

So far all of you who visited today are also now Administrators over there! Congratulations.

In the events that I am out of town or working while everyone is hanging out there, you admins are generally responsible for keeping everyone in line and cracking skulls.

Oh and don't be afraid to use the "Boot Member" feature... that's what its there for ;)

Guys, I use a site called www.dyndns.org to give me a url. and it doesn't cost a thing. I use it to run my private FTP server so that I have access to all my stuff, wherever I am. Check it out. It should work very well for this. It even works with a dynamic IP address. As soon as the computer gets a new IP, it sends a message to the update site. The site then updates the routers. In about 15 minutes, your URL works again. You have static IPs so that is not a problem, but this would give you a URL.
