Anyone else looking forward to this? They're going to have Scott Bakula (Quantum Leap) as the captain and it's supposed to take place like 200 years before the original Trek--sounds promising. We could really use a *good* new sci-fi series :)

I agree with you UMP....I mean...how can you compete w/something that has worked so well? TNG had great writers...great actors...and great scripts! I watched a few episodes of the other spin offs, and was highly dissapointed. TNG come back please!

since most of u are to young to remember the original star trek(the very very very first televised)in black and white because no one could afford a color tv then i am looking forward to the very beginning before the jump to captain james t. when captain pike ruled the enterprise.even though it was only a pilot(a test show)i think i enjoyed it the most.kinda like the first star wars or the first jurassic park the sequels just dont have that originality that u look forward too.
oh and by the way my man scotty is my favorite of all.
down to earth-whisky drinkin-and the best damn do all there every was.

'Enterprise' premiers 8PM September 26 on UPN. They are 100 years before the original series, no shields, no transporters. And Star Trek isn't in the name.

C'mon guys, Star Trek is like Star Wars, they don't make bad ones, some are obviously better than others. I personally am excited about a new "Trek". The original was/is a classic, TNG was also great, DSP was decent and if you watched Voyager, it was very different from ST, or TNG but it still satisfied that "Trekkie" jones, DSP was hard for me to follow, but a few friends seemed to enjoy it. To make a long story short ( I know too late for that!!) I'm willing to bet that the new show will be better than what's showing on the other 300 channels

I hear you, cardcracker. Even the slowest episodes of DS9 or Voyager (and, yes, there were a few :)) were better than having to endure even one episode of most of the s*itcoms and other broadcast garbage out there. All of the series had a variety of writers and directors, so the quality varied from episode to episode. Even TNG had a few clunkers--maybe not as many, but it still had 'em ;).

The TNG clunkers were mostly in the first couple of seasons, after that they were in the groove.
