Like anything else, we take the good with the bad. Stem cell research will lead to better understanding and better health, but the cost is that it had created a market for fetal tissue.

Anybody ever read any Larry Niven, say Gil Hamilton and the long A.R.M. of the law? Ever hear of Organlegging and Organ harvesting??
Hmmmmm, we are on a cusp for sure.

The Clintonites are still pissed Gore didn't get elected. Just let it slide Finkle, I doubt you will be able to reason with them. I tried for years, it never did any good.

Maybe had we done this research b-4, Bill would have be left as a In-bred. His family Tree has no forks.

Your right T_C, I live in a rural area, work for a union shop. Most of the folks around are "Gun Nutz", hunters, small business(farmers), fairly conservative church goers. Who when asked think the Goverment is out of control (To Big) and taxes are to high.
But start talking Politics with them and all ya hear is "The Dems are for the working man" and vote like that, ask em about NAFTA or GATT and they have no idea what ya are talking about. Ask em about any of the issues I mentioned above and they are on the Rep. (Conservative) side 4/5th the time but just can't help voting Dem. for whatever reason and I can't convince them otherwise. It is frustrating, They see Clinton, Gephardt or Daschle on TV spewing nonsense about "It's for the Children" and Think "Awww" they must really care, doesn't matter if none of the numbers don't add up, or the position they are defending hasn't worked for 40 years nomatter how much money(Taxes) they have thrown at it.
Wow, What a bunch of nonsense. Stop here I must before started I get. What you say???

Maybe we can start with Bush's stem cell, we will find there is nothing there to test.

Bush Won with a lot of major support from NRA, but I don't think that will stop him from taking our guns away if it becomes a political stumbling block...
...wait a minute! bush did'nt win... Gore won the popular vote...what the hell's going on with this country? ...
The next thing you know, the homo's will be taking over hollywood, and watching tv will be illegal!

Lol finkle. I hear ya. Politics is an issue sure to start a fight. Being the only republican in my family of democrats I can tell you trying to change someone's mind once it is made up is darn near impossible. Of course I am just as bad as the next person about that. You will find the truth is what that person wants to believe and please don't confuse the issue with facts lol. My dad was union and union wages fed and clothed me. Unions have a done alot for American workers, but sometimes I think they have been counterproductive. Anyhow I am practically a Libertarian. I think less government is better. I want three things from the government. 1) Deliver my mail 2) Defend the shores Of American 3) Leave me the hell alone!
I am not one who thinks the government should be the answer to everyone's problems. I do not think health care is a right. I don't think a meal or a place to live is a right. I don't think the government should take my money and give it to someone else because they are underachievers, unambitious, or because of the poor life choices they have made. I think families and your church should be your life lines. I think that is one of the reason's we have some of the problems of today. Families used to be closer because that was everyone's safety net. Now, you can disrespect your parents wishes..........go live your life however you choose and not need them to help you out because somewhere is some government program willing to hand out my hard earned money to you because you decided to devote your life to being a crackhead or have 10 kids and a minimum wage job etc. Forgive my rant, everyone expects something different from the Government, I was just expressing my very politically incorrect opinion.
Back to the statement at hand, about the decision being left to an idiot. The decison is left to a politician, I don't know any that I would let design a rocket or do brain surgery. The decisions politicians make are typically based more on the polls than their own moral(if you can find a politician with some) sense of right and wrong.

I think TC makes alot of good points and is right about one thing for sure. ---, Religion, and Politics is best kept to one's self. My dad also was a stanch believer in unions. He was a union man all his life.

The heck with a fruit stand, we needed a different diredtion. If it works, fine, but the last admin just used cigars for the wrong reason. Try and explain that to you 9 year old daufgter. Morlas? Very true! I would be hard pressed to find a better system of government. We get what we ask for though and alot of people are willing to trade freedom for security. I don't think that is a very good trade. Freedom lost is very hard to regain and usually has to be bought with blood.
