I have decided against using live chat, since its so hard to get everyone together at once.

Hmmm... any luck now? I think maybe the database server wasn't authorized to pass the internet lock on Zonealarm. It locks all programs out when the screensaver kicks in, unless it has permission.

Yep,

Been outta town with work again. Realized while at the Hotel that the server wasn't serving! :mad: Still not sure if I fixed the problem. I was able to see everything on the computer that the server is running on (here at home) but nobody else could. Strange...

Anyhow, hopefully it is back up now (for everyone else I mean...) some of you guys try to access it again and post in the forums. Let me know if it is up to the outside world again or not.

I finally got in this morning after two days of trying. Question, Do we carry our nicks with us over there? I did not see a registration there.

I got in too, but my posts didn't show up. I posted a reply in one forum, and it said "thank you for posting," but the post never showed up. I posted a new thread in another forum, and the same thing happened. I entered my screen name both times.

The nick question answer is that in that free version of vBulletin, there is no way to register nicknames, so when you post, it just uses whichevername you type in.

I'm looking into getting the full version which would have all the same features as the version Rise uses. As far as posts not showing up, that is odd... I guess being able to get in is a good sign, now I just have to figure out where the posts are going....

But maybe some of it is done... I think I've fixed the missing posts problem. Somebody go post in the forum again and make sure you can see your posts immediately afterward.

I can see them on mine now, but that doesn't necessarily mean its fixed. I have a whole new respect for guys trying to run a web server. ;)

Yeah, the Idea of a threaded discussion forum is better I think since everyone can come and go as they get the time and still have discussions, albeit delayed ones. ;)
