While running a load down to Portageville, Missouri, USA, I accidentely ran over an armor plated possum. While I hate to kill any animal I'm not gonna eat (and yes, I'm an avid hunter) I was wondering why the possum was wearing armor?
Didn't help much against a 78000 lb truck:(

It's the armadillo invasion moving north. Just another dillo in the road trying to catch a ride.

I'm in the dead center of Missouri....Last year, after 2 - 3 very mild winters, dead armadillos were found every week or so on the highways.
Last years good ol' MidMO winter took care of them for a while......

Why did the chicken cross the road? To prove to the armadillo it could be done!

Back in the 60s,we went to my crazy
uncles house for dinner. I THOUGHT it
was chick'n and dumplens. AFTER we ate
and were sitting arround talking,he
casually mentioned that he tried a new
recipe for the meal. He told us that the
chicken was actually 'dillo and dumplins.
Ya know,,I never ate at his house again.
Actually,it was pretty good.
It did taste like chicken.

Is "pillbug" the same thing as "rolly-polly"?

Yeah, we called them rollie Pollies too! Childhood flashback!
I have tried all manner of animals not generally eaten by the american masses, Rattlesnake, Gator (one of my favorites) Possum, (greasy) Squirrel,Horse, even did a rat one time on a dare, did you know that EVERY mammal in North America is edible?
Also, I think Chicken tastes just like Snake! Chickens are NASTY creatures! as anyone who grew up with them knows, but I still eat them anyway, as a matter of fact, I can't think of any animal I wouldn't try, as long as it is cooked, and no brains, mountin oysters, or chitlins, I am talking muscles here! (although I do like liver and kidney and such) Beef Heart is one of the best sandwiches you'll ever have. I like tongue, but it kinda get to me when I think of what I am eating. weird huh?

Tried all on your list and monkey (in Turkey) and groundhog. Both tough and chewy:(
And your right, chickens are nasty! (and stupid)

Gator is good, but my vote for best wild animal is Rabbit! Just wrap in aluminum foil with barbecue sauce and stick in the oven on 350 for about 40 minutes....mmmmmmmmmm.
