I know that this is the wrong forum...but I thought the great minds of the trialer park could help.
I have set up several emu systems over the last 6 months, but the latest one I am working on will not work. These are the details.
Computer: 486DX100 (should have ample processing speed)
IRD: RCA DRD420RE 5th generation plus receiver (winked)
Colbolt programmer and emulator from Cansat2000
Virgin NON BS H-card
H Bin with an HU camID and ZKT
This is what is happening:
I set up the computer, and verified that both COM ports are working with P2UPD8.exe. I unplugged the receiver, turned on the computer, waited for the ATR to scroll across the screen. Plugged in the reciever, inserted the emu board and the numbers started scrolling on the monitor. But all I get is "Insert Valid Access Card"
I tried a few different bins. I even tried the HU bin that has been in the Members download area for months (Hucam.bin from the 082600hu.zip file). This has got me stumped.
These are a few assumptions that I have made...Please correct me if I'm wrong.
1. The computer is fast enough, because the numbers are still scrolling when I get IVAC.
2. The Card is AUXed properly because I am getting a valid ATR
3. The emu board is working because I am getting the data scrolling on the screen.
From these assumptions, I am left with 2 possibilities:
1. Try another IRD, I have a 5th Gen that is not winked.
2. There is something wrong with the core bin on the floppy disk.
Could it be anything else. Please, someone help.
