I have a Sony Dual LNB system with Sat-B2 receivers. My signal strength with the B2s is locked at 95, peaking at 98.
I bought 2 Sony B50s, and simply switching out receivers on one LNB, the signal strength starts jumping up and down from about 88 to 0, mostly showing 0 and unlocked. Some channels work completely, some only audio. I have tried disconnecting the other receiver at the LNB, and no change. It happens with both B50s, on either LNB. Is the B50 compatible with the older Sony dual LNB from the B2s?
Both cables from the LNB are straight from self install kits, RG6 cable, less than 100ft, no splitters. Perhaps the power from the B50s is not as good?

I bought the 2 Sony B50s on Ebay, both were complete, and looked unopened when I got them.

Any ideas?

sounds to me like you bought two bad receivers if you say the first receiver works fine and gets a 95 to98 signal then all of your wiring is fine and its not the lnb because they are compatible i suggest you try one more thing take your receivers to a friend who you know has a new system and try it there if it dose the same thing then you know for shor you bought 2 bad receivers i hope this helps you and others r505

Get a dvom and check the voltage output it should be
15v+3v-2v and it should be stable if not go to best buy or where ever you can find some B50's and buy 2 then open then and swap the guts out Bang you got two brand new ird free :)
