Despearately trying to get one, possibly as many as 3 signal destackers ("receiver controlled down converters").

Possible items:
Holland Electronics D575
Holland Electronics SFE450
California Amplifier (don't have a part #).

I've spoken to the fine people at Holland Electronics - but they only sell thru distributors. Looking for either a dealer in northern california, or somebody who takes orders over the net.

This *should* be simple. I can't believe i can't find anybody who will take my money!!

Please email furiousgrge@hotmail.com

thanks!

>>Destackers? Sounds intertesting. What does it do?

A 'stacker' lets you take the output of two LNB's and put it on a single wire. At the other end you need to use a de-stacker to separate the signals again (certain receivers like the Sony B55 can handle a stacked single natively).

This way, instead of needing multiswitches and multiple cable runs, you stack the signal, run it through splitters to all your drops (single run of coax), and then destack at each receiver.

My problem is my apartment building has a stacked DirectTV system - works fine with the supplied SonyB55 receiver, but i want to use a DirectTivo box so i need to destack the signal myself (otherwise i can only see half of the transponders).
