View Full Version : pointing my dish please help!!!

I am trying to catch the signal but can't and I don't understand why I can not is dishnet's signal harder to get then Dtv or maybe I am doing something wrong. I live in the midwest and I am trying to get the signal from the 119west sat. But no mater what I do no go. I do have 2 other sat I can point at 61.5west and 148 west is it posable to get my signal from one of these or can I only catch the 119west. I live in the Chicago land area and right down the block I believe some guy is geting the 61.5 west. but the people next door are getting the 119 west I think I have to many tree's I know it is not the lnb I changed it still nothing.

Have you inserted your card? I'm sure to be corrected if wrong but I believe you must have the card in some E* models in order to tune in the satellites.

ggjj,
the 119 is DN's Primarry Sat. If you can get the 101 and the 110 ok for dave, then the 119 should be ok as well. you mentioned trees... try to get as far back (north) and as high as you can with a temp mast location and try from there. Make sure you have a compass for aprox direction so you don't put mast in line with a tree.
