Hook hd400 to standard,(no comonent video)
change the video setup on hd400 to high definition
and then get out. Turn the receiver off. now you
can try to hook it back to HDTV with component video to see it help. Or you can try to set up
your hdtv to low resolution, if it is low (480)
change it to high (960i). The problem you have is
the video setup on hdtv & hd400 do not match.
By the way, you must have oval dish setup to
get HD signals. Otherwise, you waste your $ on
HD receiver. Dish come with 2 LNBs, one for 101 bird(standard as round dish) and the other for
119 bird(the one for HD signals) you might have
the 3rd LNB(optional) installed for a few more channels on 110 bird.
Good luck.

Caoluan is right. There is another way. Hook your receiver to both component input and video input ( input 1)of your TV. Turn on Tv and receiver. If you don't see picture, press input button on remote control of your TV until you see the picture. Good luck.

I forgot one thing. The component input must be DTV component input. I think your TV has 2 or 3 component inputs and 4 video inputs.
