I just bought and spent all day putting up my two new 24" Hotshot dishes. I get a signal strength of 99 on the 101 bird and a signal strength of 94 on the 119 bird. I am curious if anyone had ever goten a signal strength of 100? Also the hotshot's have a built in heater that will melt all snow and ice off guaranteed! This will come in handy on those snowy nights. You may say why did I do this? I did it because I get My 65" Diamond series Mitsubishi Tommorrow and I never want to get drop-outs again!!! To finish off the configuration I do want to say that I did have the 18x24" eliptical dish before the new dishes. If you ask anyone the eliptical dish is a compromise to save room. I gave it a try and did not like the 80's of signal strength. You do need the multiswitch(4in x 4out) to use both dishes simultaniously. If you need to get more signal check out radioshack.com they have the hotshot line.

I just recieved my two 24" dishes from UPS.

I plan on doing the same thing as you.

My problem is rain fade. I live in southern Florida, and it rains here nearly every day.

The eliptical dish is not very good when it comes to rain fade........

The 24inchers won't cure rain fade but they will help some. And yep, some people have reported a signal of over 100
