I have a new RCA Multimedia HDTV monitor and a DTC100 IRD - dual satellites bringing in strong signals from 110 and 119.

I have a "programmed" H card which brings in every channel I know of ...except when I switch to 199 and/ or 509 I get a black screen.

I get the banner which tells me what is showing ....but no picture or sound... a black screen.

I have never seen HDTV on this new expensive rig.

Anybody have any ideas or similar problems?

I had the same problem. RCA sent me a new multi-switch and that didn't fix it, so RCA sent me another multi-switch and that didn't fix it. So I sent my receiver to repair shop and they told me that the DTC100 was not sending the 22hz tone to the multi-switch and they could not fix it. I had to pay $130.00 to have my DTC100 replaced by Thomson electronics under warrantee. Good Luck.

hi Jaque
Just wondering why you have to pay $130.00 for new reiceiver when it still under warranty.

The warrantee is for 90 days parts and labor and 1 year parts. My receiver was about 6 months old. They have a fixed labor cost of $129.00.

You say you have the 110 and 119 Sat. I'm guessing you mean 101 and 119. Are you sure you have the 119 coming in, and not the 110. ? DO you have the NASA channel? Or does the NASA channel come in as PBS? I had this happen a couple of days ago,and I hear what that means is I had the 110 Sat instead of 119. Got the Black Screen on 509 & 199.
I'm in exactly the same boat your in. Bought my RCA 38310 Sept 26th, havent seen HDTV yet. I had a pro installer come out today, he says I cant get the 119 because of a tree. I think he's full of crap. I'm not giving up....
Thats a bummer to hear about the bad receiver in this unit. I sure would like to get this thing tested out soon...

Check without using multi switch. For some reason some multi's work and some don't. Also you can not use more than one multi switch and still get the HD signal with out doing some pretty complicated splitting ahead of the multi switch, straight off the lnb. Use only a 4 in and 4 out switch.
Hope this helps!!!

ok, i'm an actual subscriber, have the HD-500 and still have no 199 or 509. DTV told me they have to activate on their end for me to get it. Any truth to that? sometimes i get the header that says what's on but at the bottom it say unaviable. other times i cannot even find the channel.
What number is the NASA channel? i've seen it listed but cannot remember where it was...

thanks
