Hi Guys! I'm just wondering if there's a guide out there to install the oval "para todos" dish? If so, can any body help me obtain it? I just bought an oval dish at a local pawn shop and it didn't come with instructions (Of course) Please help.
Thanx

I got one with instructions & had a nightmare dialing it in.
First you need to get the longitude/latitude/tilt from your ird by putting in your zipcode in the dish setup menu.
Then you need to get the 101 (main) sat dialed in & then set the tilt which is how you get the.second sat (110)
Be prepared for a hassle & consider paying someone as it's a pain in the A$s to dial in the second bird.

I'm also gearing up to install a Plus system with the oval dish. Any tips/hints/suggestions would be much appreciated.
Several specific questions that I've got:
1) I've purchased a hardware signal strength meter to help with the dish setup. With the 4x4 multiswitch involved in this system, I'm wondering where to place this meter during the dish alignment. Will it go between one of the dual LNB lines on the LNB for the bird that I'm aiming for and the multiswitch, or between the multiswitch and the IRD? I'm assuming that it should go between the LNB and the multiswitch.
2) Also in regard to using the hardware signal meter for dish alignment: will it matter or be necessary for the IRD to be looking at the correct bird during alignment? If so, I assume that using the IRD setup screen and having the correct bird selected will do the trick?
3) Does anyone understand what the four short coax cables that come with the RCA Plus package are good for? Perhaps running from the LNBs down through the mast, at which point you'd use barrel connectors to mate to the long coax runs to the multiswitch?
Thanks.

The short wires that came with my RCA oval dish & the purchased seperately "C" lnb from ChannelMaster (who actually makes the dish)are labled as to which lnb they go to (A,B,C) & route to the multiswitch from their respective lnb.
I MUST say in good conscious that unless you are Spanish speaking, LOVE the Brigham Young University Channel Orlove men in suits in senate hearings (most of NASA's programming) then this is not for you.
I wanted Nasa as I am neither Mormon nor do I speak Spanish (my loss)
and have been severly disapointed.

My local channels are on the 119 satellite.

You will only get them in the 0-99 range by putting the correct zipcode on your hu or on your boot disk for your emu. I have been trying for almost a year to get the channels in the 680's with no success

The only "tip" I can offer is (as always) start with a plumb pole, or your elevation marks on the dish won't mean ----, and FIND THE 101 SAT FIRST. Make sure you're on 101 and, with the proper skew, the 119 won't be too far away (this is, of course, assuming you've got nothing in the way. Lots of installations find the 101 easily but once there, you have to deal with where ever the 119 is. A good site survey is half the battle)
Also don't be afraid to sacrifice a little 101 signal strenght to bring the 119 up.
I wish I new more about using your meter, all mine are self powered so I don't rely the receiver connections for it to work (I saw a guy put two 9v transistor batteries in series (18v) and run one of those little meters off it, it worked pretty well for occasional use. Or better yet, four 9v 2 in series & 2 in parallel for extra capacity :) )
The four short wires that come with the kit are to go betweem the amps and the switch (that's why their marked "Sat A" & "Sat B"). I always try to put the switch inside, I see no reason to expose the switch and all those connections to the elements.

Ok guys. Help me out here. What exactly should come with "Para todos" packcage? I already have the IRD (5th gen.), the oval dish with a 4x2 switch. Am I missing anything else? Or is this everything that I should have? If Not, can you guys please tell me exactly what I should have.
Thanx
