Dish Location Question

I am going to install a DN system, however there is a hill not too far off in the distance. My elevation on my dish according to my coordinates should be approx 9 degrees. My question is when I install my dish and set the elevation at 9 degrees, should I look along the lnb arm to see if it clears the hill, or should I look at center of the lnb, center of dish. What should I be looking at on the dish to make sure that I have a clear view of the satellite to receive its signal.

The signal should be coming from about three degrees higher than the elevation setting of the dish (if the pointing program tells you 39 degrees, the signal is arriving from ~42 degrees elevation). That would be three degrees above the centerline of the dish.
