Got the Oval dish up this weekend and when I was stringing the extra cable I had a thought...I'd like to mount the 4X4 and the SW21's in my basement where my tie-in panel in (for phone and cable).

Question is...does it matter if the 6904IFD 4X4 MultiSwitch or SW21's are mounted near the dish or 50 feet away? If the MultiSwitches have a built in passive amplifier then I could see mounting it on the back of the dish like it instructs. I would rather only have 4 connections out in the "weather" as opposed to 12 connections, (and at least those 4 would be sheltered a little). Anybody do this?

I have 25 feet of RG-6 between my dish and switches and I have not had a problem. The 101 runs into the 4x4, the 110 into the SW-21. The 119 is run into a powered multiswitch which splits it and connects to the 4x4 for the DTV 119 and the SW-21 for the dish 119.
