31 & 32 transponders only!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a freind who is tring to install his satelite and he can only get a signal on transponder 31 and 32.His signal is at 96,but only
on the above mentioned transponders.I have given him another
receiver and lnb to try with the same results.He has also changed out
the cable.Is there anything I,m missing here.I going over tomorrow to
look at it.

hi Dss friend. I was just browsing the Forums and saw your concern. I'm sympathetic because i had the same experience just a couple days ago when installing a system for my cousin. The problem is you have not yet successfully pointed your dish. You should get an acceptable signal on transponder 2 before assuming you've pointed the dish correctly. I had a satellite finder i bought on ebay. Without it i don't know how i would have done it. Don't be too confident that you have the dish adjusted to the correct elevation. My dish was too low, needed to be pointed higher.

Yep, I agree, try setting your IRD on any transponder below 28 and re-aim your dish.
