View Full Version : Tired Of Being A Script Kiddy

Ok folks, I don't know about the rest of ya but I am tired of using others people scripts and emulation programs and I feel like I would like to make some "real" contributions to this hobby. The problem is I have no real understanding of code or programming. Not even Basic. Does anyone know where I can get some really basic tutorials on Hu cards, eprom addreses, how the codes are processed etc? I mean I need really basic stuff. Perhaps there is a web site that has these types of tutorials for the truly lost? What I get from reading in the technical forums just goes right over my head. Perhaps if their is enough interest we can get Aol6945 or clipgrp or someone else who understands this type of thing to write a series of instructional papers to getus moving in the right direction? Perhaps even a "newbie HU script writers forum" might come about? Wouldn't it be great to have some public scripts out there written by "The Trailer Park Group" :D

I am tired of being part of the problem, you know people trying to tell the developers it is time to release the Hu Unlooper. Real soon they will be saying it is time to release software for the last ecm. Everyone expects someone else to do the hardwork and make it available to them. Why they think the are so entitled I have no idea. Thousands of people with their hands out saying gimme. I want to be more than just another one of those. I think if I can get a good start I can learn enough to contribute at least.

What's a HU unlooper?
Just sarcasm, no flaming please. I would also be interested in learning more about scripts. Ram, AOL & Clipgrp are over my head too. I need an explanation in real easy to understand language, I am an old fart afterall.

As an afterthought, another thousand or so people writing or altering existing script to make them more personal would create havoc for the ecm crew wouldn't it? Also, a few novices might find some interesting features the experts would ordinarly miss. That may lead to programming with a 7816 or even the, dare I say it, HU Unlooper. Just my thoughts.:)

Think H basics might help? U of CA Riverside site has a 1000 page book online for the processor, you'll learn what XORd means quickly. I asked about the same time Mrs. C did about scripting, try searching the replies, I got some real good info, went so far as to understand a little about using jump points to try and hide the 3m code. I have some interesting files, PM me if you want them.

I am not sure Rob. I would rather skip H and go straight Hu as I have many Hu cards around I can destroy(bought when they were cheap and available).

And to think I made the fisrt reply to t_c's thread, then watched the President on TV, yes I do watch it sometimes, and now I find myself outta beer. Guess I'd better run down and buy a beer from the local "head". I think I saw some HU unloopers in the backroom, maybe...maybe I said...

lol.....and to think this all started with the thoughts of trying to learn code TC.....see this is what happens when you post it in the park! ;) On a serious thought though.....it would be nice to see some newbie stuff come out for those who want to learn scripting....and if I ever get free time who knows one day I might even try to play around with it.....:D

robleemn,
I tried the UC riverside website... couldnt find the online book you were referring to... could you post link (I'm pretty sure that its allowed ;) )... also, I would love to see those files you are talking about... would really appreciate it if you could email them to me at: cavegoon@pirateden.com ... Hopefully someone will hear our cries for help!!! Hey, Blcjet, don't they teach this stuff at the university you are going too? Perhaps you can do a term paper for one of your engineering classes on this, killing two birds with one stone! :D

Hey, T_C, a while back, someone asked a similar question, and here is a portion of Paramedic's response:
originally posted by Paramedic
Look at it this way. You found this site, you've shown an interest. Learn from it. The H-Card still works and almost complete and total documentation is available on that platform. So, while the "kinks" are being worked out of the Hu, opcodes being deciphered, encryption being hacked, etc.... teach yourself the H-Card.
Hey, even a dumb Paramedic can do it so I know you can! :) http://www.8052.com and check out the 8051 tutorials. Get the H-Card Disassembly (HCDT v.63) and start reading. Is it easy? Nope, it's not. But, is it worthwhile, hell yes! And, in a warped, geeky way... lotsa fun. There's a reason this hobby is called "testing" (or used to be anyway)..
And, I promise ya... true "testing" has NOTHING to do with FreeTV. Besides, there is NO such thing as FreeTV. If I wanted it cheap, I'd just pay DirecTV, to truely immerse yourself and learn from this hobby cost WAY more than "Total Choice Platinum". But then, just watching tv kinda sucks. ;)
I clicked on his link hoping to learn how to write my own scripts. The link looks to be very valuable. It kept talking about how it provides an elementary understanding of script-writing. Well, if this is the elementary explanation, then I guess I need the preschool version. Maybe you'll have more luck with it. BTW, here is the thread that I copied Paramedic's post from:

Thanks Zcubed. Guess I might try to learn h first, but I know with my luck, as soon as I figure out how to write my own h script, they will shut down the H stream. :P
I still think that since Blcjet is the smart one here, getting her engineering degree and all she needs to learn it and teach the rest of us. I am sure your professor will be impressed when your term paper teaches him how he can write his own Hu programs and sell them for money lol.

Yes, blcjet is definitely the woman for the job. I mean she hasn't made anything less than a 100 all semester. With smarts like that, she'll be conversing with RAM and AOL in no time. The rest of us will just sit here getting dizzy.

I do think I have the type of files you are looking for though, and also TANSTAAFL's classes. You can just jump into the thick of it. I'll flood your email for just a bit with some really cool stuff.
Hope coding is going well for paramedic. He cleaned my first card and the day I got it back it was in the mail back to him again. I looped it that quick, hehe, guts but no brains.

T_C,
I was able to get a full atr on a looped HU(Software looped).
I used an ATM machine I installed a looped HU by mistake instead of my debit card..The machine did'nt give me any money.but I got a Gift certificate to Walmart for $49.95.
Today I will hit some of the Grocery store's with Looped HU's and let you know the progress. I think that the infrared that scans my Kroger plus card wil do the trick. We are on the right track Buddy,This is why they call this Hobby testing;)
Please No Flames:gg
Hope this helps some out there,Mods I think this should be moved to the HU Forum.
Thanks Vic...
