Got mine today,in good shape, I hear people are getting them in bad shape due to shipping method, (little car, big box) but mine came in fine. It'll go up for sale when the hype peaks! (gotta love those collectors!)

Quad,

I got my RD yesterday, and it was packed in that awful box. I ended up with bent corners. I saw how you flamed them pretty good in the complaints section. Also, I saw you a coupla' times on Ebay. How many did you get? I think I remember you saying you had a buddy that was registered and maybe that's where the 'extra' came from. Anyways, it looks as if I'll be holding on to mine for a while. I'm also gonna hold on to my Penske VW's to let them 'appreciate'. Have you been looking for any Treasure Hunts or anything like that? I find that I am going to the toy section a little too regular on my shopping trips. I hope that this doesn't become an addiction!

That's the one, I jumped on the Bandwagon a few months ago when ya started that thread about this and went to the "HotWheels" web site and ordered them, the day after I ordered I checked again and they were sold out, I "believe" I got the right ones.

Finkle, you are getting the right ones, they still go for $40 to $50

Quiet man, you probably see me Bidding on ebay, I am buying all I can get for under $100. I don't mess with anything I can't get online. Sometimes when I go to the store with the Pup, I look for TH's but that is about it.

Yeah, I got mine in. I was shocked by their shipping method -- the cheap bastards!!! One corner is bent a little and the plastic is even separating from the cardboard. The collector card is also bent up. What a joke. I'm counting on getting around $500.00 for mine, one day. I may have to wait awhile though. I still can't believe their shipping method. I still have all my penske's and my rocket oils.

Yeah, $500 isn't out of the question in a few years, but....... think of it this way.

I bought mine for $18.00 (including shipping) I will sell it quick for $100 or so, with that $100, I will replace the $18.00 investment and have $82 left, that is good for 5 of the winter Online specials and a decent lunch up the road at the deli, I will sell the 5 specials for $40 each and have $200.00 (probably more, but hey this is just an example) I will take the $200 and buy a printer at the warehouse up the road, That will sell on ebay for $400.00 Take that four hundred and buy two more (thats all they have, 3). See?..... In about four months, my $18.00 Rodger Dodger is now $800.00. Uh. I mean sure, it was just $18.00, but when you operate on investment profits only, you take what you can get.

:)

A very very few of the Rodger Dodgers were GREEN! Imagine what they will bring! Take a look at this Grey variation of the Penske VWs!!!!
WOW!! (http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1644787893)

Yeah, that makes sense. I may even just hold on to it, and also hold onto one harley, and one penske, etc. Sell the rest, but start collecting the most collectable. In 20 years, you could have a pretty nice and valuable collection of collectable hot wheels cars (museum quality . I think I may even try to paint my penske's gray!

I can't wait to see what a green RD will go for! I bet $500 immediately, IF anyone sells one.

Yeah, I bet it would. It might even be a good price for one. I mean, I'm not gonna cough it up, but just think what it would be worth 10 or 20 years from now. I guess $500 now would be a good price for a "true" collector.

I'm still a little upset over their shipping method. Also, I was a little unimpressed with the RD. I really like the rocket oils and the penske's. I would have thought that the RD would have been at least equivalent to those. The RD is nothing more than one of the cars you can get at Target for 77 cents, except you can't get it at Target.

True true, except it has Real Ryder tires. (rubber) the Rodger Dodger originals sell pretty well, from the 70's.

I can see you have gotten bit by the bug!

Me, I am no collector, it is just another angle to make a buck. THAT is my hobby! Everthing is for sale here! EVERYTHING. (except the Pup)

Hey, as a side note, my Partner went to an auction last weekend, and in a masterstroke of dealmaking, got three people at the sale to split two pallets of Police radar units! We ended up with about 22 of them for $250!!! We get between $75 and $125 bucks a piece for them, average out to about $90 or so, plus some extra parts! About $2200 worth for $250. Going.....going....going.... its outta here! Another homerun for Idealsurplus! (not to mention he got 15 HP 12c financial calculators for $90!! they go for about $25-35 each) another GREAT sale!
