Would power and telephone transmission wire affect the signal strength



These wires are located 100 feet from the front of the dish, directly in the line of sight

They shouldn't. The dish should be able to see straight through. Are you having problems?

yes

I have 52 inch dish and only getting 90 % of channels. Other people in same areas with smaller dish getting just as much.

What kind of dish is it? Maybe a little "tweaking" might help. If it is a center focusing type dish, try moving feedhorn in/out or up/down or side to side. Rotating the feedhorn/lnb will not help as the signal is circularly polarized.

If it is a mesh dish, make sure the dish has a true parabolic shape. Mesh dishes lose their shape easily. Another thing to look at is be sure all the petals are facing the same way and not deformed.

Are you sure the arm that holds the lnb hasn't been bent? If you're sure that the lnb is dead on focus, I would replace the cable with new RG-6. I would also replace the ground block. If you get 92 percent on some transponders and unacceptable signal on others, could be a faulty lnb. Just trying to help.

I have tried 3 LNB's, all the same. I have a satellite finder from rat shack which I use to focus the signal. I tried pushing up & down on the arm made the signal worse.

On trans # 15 I was getting 92 - 95 % however on 32 it was 0 (probably 5 or 6 others as well- all even trans)

It is new wire I replaced 2 or 3 months ago.

I am as far east as you can go and still be in north america plus pretty far north.
But there are other guys who have 39 inch dish and getting as good as me.
