Well.... it was ok, not OK, but just ok. Cute and entertaining to a degree, I am curious to everyone's take on the "modern music" used in some of the scenes, I didn't like it. I mean, the concept I see and I might even buy under other conditions, but I just don't think they pulled it off. The dance scene just didn't look right when the music kicked into high gear. And the "We will rock you" sequence started out to be cute, but just didn't get it. Let me know what you folks thought.

all in all, I did watch the whole thing,so it is watchable, albeit quite predictable. I identified with the author on the Father and Son angle, as far as his dad sending him off in order to help him break free of "Cheaptown" and change his stars. That was kinda cool.

It's not the best movie , but how many are? It was entertaining and different so was the last Romeo and Juliet. I like moves that are not
so PC. Why should enteraniment be limited. I JUST ENJOY THEM .

I started turned to the movie about 3mins in and it was right in the middle of the "we will rock you" scene. I had to press info to check if it was a comedy...It said action/adventure. I thought the movie was unrealistic, but It made me laugh. I think anything that makes us laugh these days has to be a good thing.

Exactly. Its really about 2 hours of losing yourself in something different than where you have already been that day. Its about entertainment, and not every movie or book has to be the Holy Grail or have some deeply profound social meaning.

I agree with what everyone else has had to say. I really didn't like the use of rock music I grew up listening too in this *period* piece. I will admit that the studio took a bold risk in trying to do something different. Still, I did manage to get into the movie and enjoy it. I even got moist eyes in a couple of scenes, which really surprised me. It could have been better, but still worth watching in my book.

Yes, all the comments sum it up. I agree with Cellular on this one (and almost all of his critiques actually...hmmm) Anyway, yes I got misty watching the father and son parts, I am VERY close to my little guy, and I kept putting myself in the fathers place and it got quite emotional. I watched it again with a couple of friends, that made it better, but it always does. We were all groaning about F'ing "women" when Jocelyn told him to lose, then to win. It was fun. Good review folks, I'd say Siskel and Ebert (uh, well whoever is still alive) have nothing on us!

Thanks guys.

The music i liked..most of the songs i thought matched the scenes they were played at... the boys are back as they head back home is a great example. the movie starting with 'We will rock you' was a great get up and lets have fun opening. I enjoyed the movie it was fun to watch.... that being said the fact that they were Singing we will rock you really blew it. if they were just beating and clapping the rythm that would have been fine..but singing??? bad choice. I also agree with the dance scene after they picked it up..didn't really seem 'right'. And my last beef with the movie was the end. William had been impaled with a stick (it's called A lance HELLO) and he doesn't bleed but enough to make a nice red circle on his shirt. And one moment he cannot hold his lance but the next he can raise his whole arm, and lance, to shoulder height for the attack. and vault over the center guard to meet Josalin for a touching kiss..which again he has no trouble holding her with his arm. All in all a great movie to flip the switch and turn of the brain and just enjoy.
Sorry for the long post but the move could have been so much more.

Thanks all.

I liked it as a 2 hour escape from reality. Some nice scenes on the jousting and I liked some of the explanations of the rules and such. It's good as long as you don't take it seriously.
