Well I don't like losing customers but in this case it was worth it..
CBC testified that they were hooked up to DTV through my company since 1996 in my trial..
They even testified that they taped and rebroadcasted..
Today they sent a letter to me and one of my lawyers advising the cancellation of their DTV service..
They sent me back four redialers to my office.. in their letter done by some executive they suggested that it only became apparent to them that my company did not have DTV's permission to offer DTV's programming to them.
Hehe... ya right.. :) they are worried that they will get ---- from the CRTC and more worried that if DTV finds out they could get sued because their use was commercial..
They didn't pay any commercial rights.. because CBC paid directly to DTV on their credit card it would be very hard to deny knowledge.. if we had payed the bill to DTV and then we billed CBC then they could claim they didn't know or atleast try..
Anyway this has no effect on my case as the Crown and the Defense (me) have both rested our cases.. even then it would only show that they cancelled because they got caught in a trial.. mine
Any other Canadian broadcasters who need DTV services please do not hesitate to contact me.. :)
