The Pro 710 is the best that I have seen, It retails at 8400.00 but it can be bought in the 5500.00 range.

The 64" Phillips is a great set, and can be gotten for about 3,000 refurbed - I was getting one but don't know how it would get into my theater room - That set is basically the same as the Marantz 64" set, which is phenominal, - but both the Philips and the Marantz need a good ISF certification before they look their best.

I just bought the rca f38310 and it works great. The only problem is the lack of hidef programming.I replaced my sony 36" 4:3 xbr wega. I bought that when they first came out, the model before they started adding hidef ready units. If you must have 16:9 format the rca is a great deal. It comes with a built-in hd dtv tuner with a card all for $1999. The 4:3 looks ok and dvd looks great. But it can't live up to the sony hd ready xbr. If I had to do it all over again i would have bought the new sony xbr 4:3 hdtv ready tv.

I prefer the Hitachi. Picture looks the best to me.

I feel like the Hitachi's have a better picture with standard Directv programming. The other sets look blurry(i.e. Mitsubishi, Sony, Toshiba, etc.). I would go to a store and compare them side by side. Be sure to try different sources, such as dvd's, cable, vhs and satellite.
