Default Does the XM signal extend outside of the USA?

The original XM Radio satellites were designed to primarily concentrate their signal on the continental USA with some overlap into Canada and Mexico. The latest generation of satellites however have a footprint that now extends far into Canada and Mexico. Reliable reception has been reported as far North as the Canadian Northern Territories and as far south as the Caribbean. Much depends on the local terrain as trees, mountains and large buildings will interfere with the signal.

XM Radio is currently only licensed to broadcast within the United States and Canada however meaning you need to have a residence in one of these countries in order to subscribe.
